Processing

Kodak’s new AHU technology makes cine film easier to process than ever.

Kodak’s new AHU (Anti-Halation Undercoat) technology replaces the traditional remjet backing found on most motion picture film.

That means stocks like Nifty 250 and Indie 500 can be processed by many labs using standard C41 chemistry, without specialised ECN-2 processing.

New to Cine film? Compare stocks in our Film guide!

Traditional remjet cine film

Some traditional motion picture films still use a remjet backing layer and may require specialised ECN-2 or remjet-compatible processing. Our Halcyon Cine 250 and Vesper Cine 500 stocks have this remjet backing layer.

Always check your lab’s processing capabilities before shooting traditional remjet cine film stocks.
