Optik Oldschool OptiColour 200 120 Film
Optik Oldschool OptiColour 200 120 is a colour negative medium format film with ISO 200 sensitivity and daylight colour balance, made in Germany for the film lab Optik Oldschool.
OptiColour 200 is the debut film from Optik Oldschool, a Düsseldorf lab with a soft spot for medium format.
The 120 version was actually its first priority. After months of testing and factory visits with InovisCoat in Wolfen, the lab got the emulsion into roll film format for shooters who had been waiting for a fresh colour option on 120.
The emulsion is based on the Wolfen NC200 stock. It’s a cousin of NC400 and NC500, but it’s a warmer, sunnier character compared to their cool, moody look.
On the bigger negative, OptiColour 200 really shines. Expect natural colours with a gentle warm lean, rich greens and reds, beautiful skin tones, and moderate contrast that holds onto detail from highlight to shadow. Grain is finer and smoother on medium format, so it suits portraits, landscapes, weddings and slow, considered shooting where every frame counts. The orange base also makes scanning straightforward.
OptiColour 200 is developed using the standard C-41 colour process, so any photo lab can handle it.
