Optik Oldschool OptiColour 200 35mm Film
Optik Oldschool OptiColour 200 is a colour negative 35mm film with ISO 200 sensitivity and daylight colour balance, made entirely in Germany for the film lab Optik Oldschool.
OptiColour 200 is the first film ever released by Optik Oldschool, a Düsseldorf lab that went from developing other people’s rolls to making its own.
The lab worked closely with InovisCoat, the Wolfen-based coating plant, running months of lab tests before the film was ready.
The emulsion is based on the Wolfen NC200 stock. It’s a close relative of the NC400 and NC500, but it has a different personality. Where its siblings run cool and moody, OptiColour 200 is warm and friendly.
Expect natural colours with a gentle warm lean, moderate contrast that keeps detail in the highlights and shadows, and greens and reds that really pop. Skin tones are the standout, which makes it a great choice for portraits, travel, summer days out and everyday snapshots where you want colour that feels true to life with a little extra glow. It also has a classic orange base, so it scans easily and plays nicely with lab workflows.
OptiColour 200 is developed using the standard C-41 colour process, so any photo lab can handle it.
